Texas trip a success!

Though the weather was wet and the drives were long, Producer Christine Amerman’s trip to Central Texas was a success on many levels. One of the highlights was witnessing her gelding Graley’s father, Arabians LTD. breeding stallion Pimlico RCA, being named AHA’s Region 9 Champion Stallion in Fort Worth!

Christine also worked with Arabians LTD.’s senior staff on the development of their new marketing materials, which will be published later this year.

Christine two-steps to Texas

Producer/Writer Christine Amerman is traveling this weekend to Texas to work on the upcoming relaunch of Arabians LTD., the world-famous Egyptian Arabian farm. She’ll attend the 2007 Arabian Horse Association’s Region 9 Show in Fort Worth, where her gelding’s sire will show, before traveling to Waco to visit the farm and gather information. Christine will work closely with General Manager Shawn Crews to develop new content, while Jason finalizes and implements the stunning new designs. This will be material won’t want to miss! Be sure to check back for pictures and updates on when the implementation will take place!

2007 Egyptian Event A Success!

Apparel spent the first week in June at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park, celebrating the Egyptian Arabian horse with some of our dearest friends. The 27th annual Egyptian Event featured projects by Apparel throughout the show, including a booklet-style brochure for Austin-based LD Arabians, the debut of Paradise Cay Arabians‘ new brochures and business cards, business cards and a brand new logo for Lansdowne Farm Arabians, and the largest project we tackled, the design and implementation of a 200 square foot booth for Paradise Cay and Paradise Arabians, Ltd. Charged with creating a homey atmosphere in a large, concrete covered arena, we transformed the space into a comfortable living room for newcomers and Paradise clients and friends. The 7-minute DVD we produced for Paradise earlier this year was the focal point of the room, playing on a large HD LCD screen throughout the week.

This was Apparel’s 3rd Egyptian Event, and we learn so much every year. This time around, we had the chance to cheer on many of our friends’ and clients’ horses as they showed off for the crowds. We are grateful to be a part of the Arabians LTD. and Paradise Arabians, Ltd. families, and we love creating beautiful materials to help them further their businesses with these captivatingly beautiful animals.

Apparel does Derby!

This past weekend, Apparel staff volunteered for the Barbaro Memorial Fund at the 2007 Kentucky Derby! We enjoyed meeting many people who loved this magnificent horse. His memorial fund, established by the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, is raising $1 million for equine research, with a particular focus on finding a cure for laminitis. We’re proud to have supported such a cause and enjoyed our day at racing’s biggest event! The race itself was spectacular, too, and was a great way to fulfill Christine’s lifelong dream of attending.

Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event welcomes Apparel

We spent the last weekend in April capturing the action of the only 4-Star Eventing championship in the United States, the Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event. Jason captured the action surrounding the cross-country competition, along with the Horse Park in full, gorgeous bloom, in High Definition, and we were privileged to interview eventing legend Karen O’Connor on Sunday. Karen rode her 14.1 hh. Sport Pony, Theodore O’Connor, to third place in the fierce competition. “Teddy” is part Arabian, so we were especially proud of the little guy!

Producer Christine Amerman Wins National PBS Award

Producer Christine Amerman has brought national attention to Arabian horses with her documentary. On Friday, January 26, 2007, the PBS’ National Educational Television Association (NETA) announced that “Life with Passion: Raising Egyptian Arabian Horses” was chosen to receive its 2007 Best Biography Documentary Award. “Life with Passion” is a beautifully told story intertwining the rich heritage of Egyptian Arabian horses with the lives of the two women who raise them on world-famous farm Arabians LTD., in Waco, Texas. Amerman directed and produced the 30-minute documentary for air on Central Texas PBS affiliate KWBU while she was a Master’s student at Baylor University. Since its broadcast, it has garnered much attention, including winning a Telly last fall in the highly competitive documentary category. The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions.

Recently Amerman has found a way to meld her love for storytelling and horses into her work as a freelance producer for Lexington-based multimedia firm Apparel Studios. “The recognition by NETA is one of the most significant awards “Life with Passion” could receive,” Parmer stated. “It’s an extremely well-told story that has captured peoples’ emotions.”

Arabians LTD. owner Judy Sirbasku noted, “Christine’s respect for her subject is admirable. I rarely allow interviews as so rarely does the article reflect my true expressions, but Christine has great intuition.” General Manager, Shawn Crews agrees. “There are few words to describe how the production “Life with Passion” affected me,” she said. “Christine captured on film the emotion that every horse person has but cannot adequately describe to others.” “The passion these women have for these noble creatures is palpable,” executive producer for KWBU Joani Livingston says. “An amazing visceral connection occurs with a well told story and gorgeous photography. Christine squarely hit the mark.”
